Dali Nikolaishvili - Principal
investigator/project lead - she lead and participated in a number of local and international
projects, in the framework of which she got acquainted with the maps kept in
different agencies, compiled maps using GIS technologies of different themes.
All this will contribute to the successful implementation of the project. She
will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of the project, the
proper execution of tasks and activities, as well as will be individually responsible
for such activities as: identification-cataloging of cartographic sources of
common use preserved in various agencies in Georgia; Compiling an information
catalog of map authors-compilers; Geographical-cartometric analysis of the map,
etc.
Maia Tskhvaradze - Young Scientist and
Project Coordinator (2019 y) - will be involved in a number of activities both individually
and in groups, such as compiling a catalog of maps in the original Georgian and
English languages; Perform statistical analysis of maps; publishing conference
materials and articles. She will also coordinate work with a foreign expert.
Ana Arsenashvili
– Project Coordinator
(2020-2026 y)
and Young
Researcher. She is a PhD candidate in Geography at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi
State University. Currently, she is working on her doctoral research, which
involves the collection and analysis of cartographic sources related to the
territorial distribution of vineyards, retrospective cartography, and the
creation of a series of thematic maps using GIS software. Ana has participated
in both local and international conferences. She worked as a GIS specialist on
a project funded by Tbilisi City Hall from 2018 to 2019 and was also involved
as a young researcher in the EMBLAS+ project from 2020 to 2021. In 2022 and
2023, she was a winner of DAAD Georgia competitions and completed courses in
SAR/INSAR remote sensing and hydrological process management at the Karlsruhe
Institute of Technology in Germany. Ana is a co-author of several scientific
articles published in local and international peer-reviewed journals. Since
2023, she has been the coordinator of a fundamental research project funded by
the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation.
David Sartania – Researcher - Doctor of
History. Will be involved in the project as a specialist in toponyms, will participate
in the identification of objects on the map; In compiling a series of thematic
maps and statistical analysis. He has experience in participating in various
ethnological and geographical expeditions, where he has been planning the area,
historical-ethnological descriptions, surveying the local population. He has
published papers in local and international peer-reviewed journals on traditional
use of nature (including southern Georgia), historical geography, ethnology,
toponymy, cartographic sources, etc.
Scott Willis - Foreign Consultant - will be involved in the preparation of the e-catalog, assist the project in sharing the good experience of other countries, as well as make recommendations on the format and structure of the catalog.
